DU regrets lynching on campus, vows justice

The Dhaka University) administration has expressed deep sorrow over the lynching of a young man at Fazlul Haque Hall on Wednesday night, September 18, describing the incident as "inhuman" and "unwanted." 

In a press release issued on Thursday, September 19, the university conveyed its shock and grief over the tragedy. The statement emphasised that the administration acted swiftly, taking immediate legal and administrative measures following the incident. 

The university's proctorial team responded promptly by visiting both the scene and the hospital, ensuring that necessary steps were taken. 

An inquiry committee was formed immediately and has already begun gathering testimonies to prepare an urgent report. 

The administration has filed a case with the relevant police station and remains in close communication with law enforcement, three release added.

The statement also assured the public that the university is committed to ensuring justice for the victim and will take all necessary steps to hold those responsible accountable.
