City dwellers have been suffering from traffic jams in Dhaka for the past few days. All traffic departments of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) are working to restore order on the roads. In this effort, traffic police are taking legal action against those creating chaos and disobeying the law.
In one day, the police conducted operations against traffic law violators in Dhaka, filing 292 cases and imposing fines totaling Tk 17,67,500.
Obaidur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations Department of the DMP, on Wednesday provided this information.
He stated that traffic policemen are working day and night to restore order. A total of 292 cases were filed, and Tk 17,67,500 was fined in various areas of the capital on Tuesday.
Additionally, 39 vehicles were impounded and 15 vehicles were towed during the operation. An immediate fine of Tk 609,000 was collected from traffic law violators.
The DMP official also mentioned that the campaign against traffic law violators will continue to restore order on the roads.
