Metro rail operations on the Agargaon-Motijheel route have been suspended since 9:40 am on Wednesday. However, train movement from Uttara Uttar to Agargaon is operating normally.
The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) announced this in a Facebook post at 10:11 am.
“The movement of trains on the Agargaon-Motijheel section has been suspended since 9:40 am due to unavoidable circumstances. However, the Uttara-Agargaon section remains operational. An announcement will be made once the Agargaon-Motijheel section is operational again. The metro rail authorities sincerely apologise for this temporary inconvenience,” the DMTCL stated.
According to a DMTCL source, a mechanical or signal fault occurred on the platform when the train left Agargaon station for Uttara at 9:09 am. The driver later requested passengers to disembark from the train.
