Former Supreme Court Appellate Division Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik has been shown arrested in six separate murder cases.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jaki Al Farabi passed the order on Wednesday following a petition submitted by police to show Manik arrested in separate cases filed at the Adabar, Lalbagh and Badda Paltan police stations.
Earlier on Tuesday, Manik, who had been granted bail in a case related to illegal border crossing at the Dana border of Kanighat Upazila in Sylhet, was flown to Dhaka by helicopter. He was subsequently sent to Dhaka Central Jail.
Sylhet Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Anjan Kanti Das had granted him bail in that case.
However, due to pending cases against him in various locations across the country, he has been ordered to remain in jail.
On August 23, Manik was detained by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) while attempting to cross into India through the Dana border in Kanaighat, and he was later handed over to Kanaighat police.
