Former Member of Parliament from Kushtia-4 constituency Selim Altaf George has been arrested.
The Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested him from Lalmatia in Dhaka on Tuesday night.
Rezaul Karim Mallik, DB Chief of the DMP, confirmed the arrest.
Source said Selim is accused in multiple murder cases filed in Kushtia and Dhaka. Police will produce him before the court and seek remand for him in any of the murder cases filed against him.
He was the MP for the Kushtia-4 (Khoksa-Kumarkhali) constituency from January 2019 to January 2024, having contested as an Awami League candidate in the 11th Jatiya Sangsad Election.
