Most garment factories in Ashulia resume production

Most garment factories in the industrial area of Ashulia have resumed production; however, 49 factories remain closed. According to the industrial police, the overall situation in the area is normal. 

Workers at factories that reopened at 8:00 am on Saturday returned to their workplaces and resumed production. Police are on alert to prevent vandalism and violence.

Sarwar Alam, Superintendent of Industrial Police-1, stated that there have been no incidents of attacks, vandalism, or road blockades in the industrial area. The situation is quite normal. Of the 86 factories closed under Section 13(1) of the Labour Act, 50 have reopened, while the remaining 36 are still closed. Additionally, most of the 133 factories that had declared general holidays are open today, with only 13 still observing the holiday.

Additional police personnel have been deployed in front of the factories to prevent any untoward incidents in the area, he added. The police officer also noted that joint force patrols continue throughout the industrial area.
