The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) is actively gathering data on casualties from the recent anti-discrimination student movement.
Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam announced during a briefing on Monday (September 9) that the ICT’s investigative agency has already sent letters to public and private hospitals, cemeteries, and district administrators across the country, requesting relevant information.
As part of the investigation, letters have also been sent to all national print and electronic media outlets, asking for details and video footage related to the events.
In an earlier briefing on Sunday, Tajul Islam identified the collection of evidence from the massacres in July and August as the tribunal’s primary challenge moving forward.
