Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Stree 2 has emerged as the second-highest grossing Hindi movie of all time, beating the domestic lifetime collections of the Hindi version of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (Rs 524.6 crore nett) and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 (Rs 525.7 crore nett).
The Amar Kaushik-directed horror comedy film has minted Rs 526.43 crore nett in India so far, as per trade reports. The fifth instalment in the Maddock Films’ supernatural comedy universe, Stree 2 is now eyeing to beat the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (Hindi version), which had earned Rs 555 crore nett in 2023.
Stree 2 had a blockbuster opening day on August 15, earning Rs 64.8 crore nett (including paid previews). It minted Rs 307.8 crore nett in the first week. The total domestic collection stood at Rs 453.60 crore nett at the end of second week.
Also starring Pankaj Tripathi, Abishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana, Stree 2 began its third week in theatres with a collection of Rs 9.25 crore nett on Friday, followed by Rs 17.40 crore nett on Saturday and Rs 22.10 crore nett on Sunday.
The sequel to Stree (2018) raked in Rs 7.05 crore nett on its third Monday, followed by Rs 5.65 crore nett on third Tuesday and Rs 5.68 crore nett on third Wednesday. With an additional Rs 5.70 crore nett on Thursday, the domestic collection of the film stood at Rs 526.43 crore nett at the end of Week 3.
