Following Bangladesh's historic whitewash of Pakistan in Test cricket, Asif Mahmud, the interim government’s adviser for youth and sports, remarked that the spirit of the July uprising is now evident in the country's sports achievements.
Asif Mahmud made this statement in response to reporters' questions at his office after Bangladesh’s victory in Rawalpindi on Tuesday (September 3).
When asked about his thoughts on Bangladesh's unprecedented series win against Pakistan, Asif Mahmud said, "Bangladesh has never won a Test match against Pakistan before. To whitewash them by winning both matches in the series is a significant achievement, and I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the national team."
He added, "We can see the spirit of the July Revolution manifesting in our sports. Our players represent us on the world stage, as seen in the SAAF U-20 and now in cricket. We are committed to sustaining this momentum and striving for even greater success in the future."
