The protesting doctors have postponed their 'complete shutdown' till 8:00pm on Monday after getting assurance of arresting those who assaulted the doctors at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital, DMCH, within 24 hours.
They made the announcement at the DMCH on Sunday evening after Health and Family Welfare Adviser Nurjahan Begum gave them the assurance in a meeting.

The physicians said their shutdown program will continue, however, only the services of the emergency department will be provided subject to the deployment of a law enforcement agency member against each doctor at the emergency department within then next 24 hours.
"The health services will continue like this for the next seven days. Then, we will call off our movement if independent health police are appointed within the next seven days," they said.
