Health and Family Welfare Adviser Nurjahan Begum is meeting with the protesting doctors who have called for a nationwide shutdown in response to the assault on their colleagues.
The adviser visited Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors were discussing the situation with coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Accompanying the health adviser are officials from the Directorate of Health, Director of Dhaka Medical Brigadier General Asaduzzaman, DMCH doctors, and representatives from the army, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and police.
