The interim government has formed a commission to search for those who disappeared at the hands of the law enforcement agencies during the last 15 years' rule of the Awami League.
High Court Judge (retd) Mainul Islam Chowdhury will head the commission while HC Judge (retd) Md Farid Ahmed Shibli, human rights activist Nur Khan, BRAC University teacher Nabila Idris and human rights activist Sazzad Hossain are its members, according to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division on Tuesday.
The commission will investigate the numerous cases of forced disappearances as per the Commissions of Inquiry Act, 1956 and submit probe report within the next 45 days.
