The High Court has fixed Sunday (August 25) to hear a writ petition seeking a ban on the Awami League and cancellation of its registration.
The bench of Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Md Mahbubul Ul Islam set the date on Thursday.
On behalf of human rights organisation SARDA Society, Supreme Court lawyer Arifur Rahman Murad Bhuiyan filed the writ petition on Monday (August 19).
The writ sought a ban on the Awami League and cancellation of its registration for killing students and people indiscriminately during the recent Anti-Discrimination Students’ Movement, extension of the interim government’s tenure to minimum three years, and bringing back around Tk 11 lakh crore laundered abroad.
