The central bank has appointed an administrator to mobile financial service provider Nagad for one year.
Muhammad Badiuzzaman Dider, who served as a director of Bangladesh Bank's Chattogram office, has been appointed as the administrator to Nagad for a one-year term, according to an order by the central bank on Wednesday.
Besides, in order to facilitate the overall operations of the administrator, some six officials of the postal department have been attached with the digital financial service Nagad, reports BSS.
They are: Md Habibur Rahman as additional director, Anwar Ullah and Palash Mondol as joint directors, Abu Sadat Mohammad Yasin (joint director, ICT), Chayan Biswas (deputy director, ICT) and Md Ayub Khan (deputy director).
Nagad entered the market back in March 2019.
Since its inception, the fast-growing MFS provider has introduced itself as the "digital financial service of Bangladesh Post Office".
