Guardians of 40 public univs remain missing: Edn Adviser

Education and Planning Adviser of the Interim Government, Wahiduddin Mahmud, revealed on Monday that vice-chancellors and other senior officials from a majority of the country's public universities are missing.

Specifically, he said that out of the 56 public universities in the country, vice-chancellors and senior officials at 40 universities have become untraceable.

Mahmud made these remarks during a session at the NEC Conference Room on Monday, August 19.

He highlighted the challenges the interim administration is facing in reopening all the universities, noting that many institutions are without leadership.

"Opening all the universities is a significant challenge. Most of the universities are without guardians. There’s no Number 1, Number 2, Number 3, or even Number 4 in command at those universities. Who do I start with? The state of administration is the same throughout the country," he said.
