A case has been filed against two members of parliament and 117 others in connection with the murder of tenth grader student As-Sabur during the recent movement at Savar in Dhaka.
The student’s neighbour Sahid Hasan alias Mithu filed the case with Ashulia police station around 11:30pm on Friday.
Former Dhaka-19 MP and Ashulia thana Awami League General Secretary Saiful Islam, former MP Md Touhid Jong Murad, Ashulia thana Awami League President Faruk Hasan Tuhin and his father Savar municipality mayor Abdul Goni Kulu, Pathalia union parishad chairman Pervez Dewan, Ashulia union parishad chairman Sahabuddin Madbor, Yarpur union parishad chairman Sumon Ahmed Bhuiyan, former Savar upazila Awami League General Secretary Ali Haider and Ashulia thana Juba League convener Kabir Hossain are among the accused in the case.
As-Sabur, son of Nayed alias Jakir, a native of Naogaon’s Mohadebpur, would live with his family at Shimultola area in Ashulia of Savar.
According to the case statement, As-Sabur went to Baipail area from his rented home at Shimultola to buy essential commodities around 11am on August 5. Later around 2pm, the plaintiff got a news that As-Sabur was lying dead at the Baipail intersection. Upon receiving the information, he, along with others, went to the area and saw As-Sabur’s mutilated body lying there.
It was mentioned in the case statement that the terrorists of Awami League and its associate organizations beat and shot him dead.
In this connection, AFM Sayed, Officer-in-charge of Ashulia police station, said a murder case was filed against 119 people on Friday night. Efforts are on to arrest the accused.
