Advisory Council expands, 5 more advisers to take oath Friday

The interim government is set to expand with the addition of five new advisers, who will be sworn in on Friday, August 16, at 4:00pm at Bangabhaban.

Bangabhaban sources provided this information on Thursday afternoon. However, the identities of the five new advisers were not immediately disclosed.

Following the resignation of Sheikh Hasina as Prime Minister on August 5, amidst an anti-discrimination student movement, the cabinet was dissolved, and the president dissolved the 12th Jatiya Sangsad the next day, on August 6.

The interim government, led by Nobel Peace Prize-winning economist Dr Muhammad Yunus, was sworn in on August 8.

Initially, the council included 16 advisers, though three could not take the oath on that day as they were out of Dhaka or the country but later took their oaths.
