The students and people took to the streets at Dhanmondi 32 in the capital on Thursday to obstruct the Awami League leaders and activists from placing wreaths at the memorial of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of August 15.
They have been surrounded the Dhanmondi-32 house since the morning.
The students said we have been here since morning. If anyone wants to take away our blood-earned freedom, we will resist.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and fled the country on August 5 in the face of student-mass uprising. Most of the Awami League leaders later went into hiding. Members of law-enforcement agencies have already arrested several state ministers, ministers and AL leaders.
