The train services will resume across the country on Thursday (August 15) after 27 days of suspension.
Kamalapur Railway Station station master Anwar Hossain confirmed the matter to Jago News on Wednesday afternoon.
“The inter-district trains will run from tomorrow (Thursday). We have taken all kinds of preparations in the stations. The Army will maintain the security besides the Railway security force,” he said.
However, the trains of ‘Parabat Express’, ‘Jamalpur Express’ and ‘Sirajganj Express’ will operate later.
The goods-laden trains started plying on Monday and mail/express/local/commuter trains from Tuesday.
The Railway authorities suspended the train services in different places on July 18 after the students demanding quota reforms to the government jobs announced a nationwide ‘complete shutdown’ on the day.
The authorities halted the train communications across the country from July 19 after the then Awami League government issued a curfew.
