Another case filed against Sheikh Hasina

Another case has been filed against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and four others for allegedly abducting a lawyer from Uttara in the capital in 2015. 

The victim, Supreme Court lawyer Sohel Rana filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Farzana Shakila Sumu Chowdhury on Wednesday. 

The court recorded the statement of the plaintiff and ordered Uttara-Paschim police station to register the complaint as a First Information Report (FIR).

The other accused are former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan, former Law Minister Anisul Huq, former Inspector General of Police Shahidul Haque, former Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benazir Ahmed.

Apart from them, twenty-five members of the RAB were also named in the case. 

Earlier in the day, a petition was filed with the court seeking its permission to file an abduction case against them.

On Tuesday, a case was filed against the former Prime Minister and six others over the murder of grocery shop owner Abu Sayed in the capital’s Mohammadpur. 

SM Ameer Hamza Shatil, a businessman from Adabar, filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury.

The other accused are former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, former Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Habibur Rahman, Additional Commissioner Md Harun-or-Rashid, and Joint Commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarker.
