Former Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq and the private industry and investment adviser to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Salman F Rahman, have been arrested.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Mainul Hasan confirmed the matter to Jago News on Tuesday afternoon.
On a tip-off, they were arrested from Sadarghat area in Dhaka when they were trying to flee, he said.
They were apprehended in a case filed with New Market police station, the DMP commissioner added.
On August 5, Sheikh Hasina stepped down and fled the country in the face of mass uprising.
Before and after her departure, many ministers and MPs of the Awami League-led government went into hiding and many others left the country.
