The government has removed the police’s Special Branch chief Md Monirul Islam.
The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday.
After removal from the Special Branch, Monirul was attached to the Police Department under the Public Security Division of the home ministry.
On March 14, 2021, Monirul was made the chief of police’s Special Branch.
Monidul had hit headlines as the chief of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crimes unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
