4 more prosecutors including acting Chief Prosecutor resign

Four more prosecutors, including the acting Chief Prosecutor, have resigned from their respective posts at the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT). 

The prosecutors are Syed Haider Ali, Rana Dashgupta, Jahid Imam, and Sheikh Moshfeq Kabir.

Masud Rana, the Prosecution Administrative Officer of the ICT, confirmed the information to Jago News on Tuesday. 

He stated that Jahid Imam and Sheikh Moshfeq submitted their resignation letters on Monday night, while acting Chief Prosecutor Rana Dashgupta and Syed Haider Ali submitted their resignations on Tuesday morning.

Earlier on Monday morning, Shahidur Rahman, Abul Kalam Azad, Rezia Sultana Chomon, and Altaf Uddin Ahmmed resigned from their posts as prosecutors at the ICT, he added.

The International Crimes Tribunal was established on March 25, 2010, to prosecute those involved in crimes against humanity during the Liberation War. Tribunal-2 was later formed on March 22, 2012. On September 15, 2015, the two tribunals were merged into one. The trial is currently ongoing in the International Crimes Tribunal-1.
