Four High Court justices have been appointed to the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court.
They are Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury, Justice Syed Mohammad Ziaul Karim, Justice Md Rezaul Haque and Justice SM Emdadul Haque.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin made the appointment through Article 95(1) of the Constitution on Monday.
The Law and Justice Division issued a gazette notification in this regard.
Earlier on Saturday noon, Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan and five other justices of the Appellate Division submitted their resignations in the face of protests organized by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed of the High Court Division was then appointed as the Chief Justice a few hours later.
The new Chief Justice took his oath of office on Monday.
