The interim government will comprise 17 members, with Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus serving as the Chief Adviser, according to officials from the Cabinet Division.
The other advisers are: Dr Saleh Uddin Ahmed, Dr Asif Nazrul, Adilur Rahman Khan, Hasan Ariff, Touhid Hossain, Syeda Rezwana Hasan, Md Nahid Islam, Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, Brigadier General (retd) M Shakhawat Hossain, Supradip Chakma, Farida Akhter, Bidhan Chandra Roy, Dr AFM Khalid Hossain, Nurjahan Begum, Sharmin Murshid, and Faruk-e-Azam.
The interim government is set to take the oath at 8:00pm tonight.
Yunus was selected to lead the interim government following a meeting on Tuesday night between President Mohammed Shahabuddin and leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, the group that spearheaded the recent uprising. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned on Monday afternoon and left the country amid the student-led movement demanding her government’s resignation.
