Interim govt likely to swear in at 8pm Thursday

Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman announced on Wednesday that the interim government is expected to be sworn in by 8:00 PM on Thursday.

Speaking to the media at the Army Headquarters, General Waker said that the designated head of the interim government, Muhammad Yunus, is scheduled to return to the country at 2:10pm and he will receive him at the airport. The swearing-in ceremony is planned for later that evening, with around 400 guests expected to attend.

General Waker mentioned that the interim government is likely to consist of 15 members, though there may be slight changes. “Since it’s not officially published, I won’t speak further on it,” he added.
