A delegation from the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, the platform that led the recent uprising, arrived at Bangabhaban to meet with President Mohammed Shahabuddin.
The delegation went to discuss the current situation in the country and the formation of an interim government.
The coordinators of the platform were seen arriving at Bangabhaban in an army minibus shortly after 6:00pm on Tuesday (August 6). Some senior army officers were also present.
Nahid Islam, one of the coordinators, said that a team of 13 members from the platform went to meet with the president and the chiefs of the three armed services. He mentioned that Dhaka University professors Asif Nazrul and Tanzimuddin Khan were also present at Bangabhaban.
"The current situation of the country and the outline of the interim government will be discussed there," Nahid Islam said, adding, "We will provide details after the discussion."
This meeting follows an earlier one held on Monday (August 5), where President Mohammed Shahabuddin met with leaders of various political parties and the chiefs of the three services at Bangabhaban.
