Fakhrul urges countrymen to join student protests

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir On Saturday called on the nation to support the ongoing student protests, pledging that the party would provide all necessary assistance to the movement.

Speaking to journalists after visiting the families of BNP Standing Committee members Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Nazrul Islam Khan, Fakhrul urged both the public and party members to join the protests and support the student movement.

Fakhrul highlighted that a mass uprising has begun in the country, with people from all walks of life participating in the Anti-Discrimination Students’ Movement despite the risks. He emphasised that the youth's awakening signifies that their movement is nearing victory.

The BNP secretary general also condemned the treatment of those arrested during the quota reform protests, alleging that they are enduring harsh conditions in prison. He claimed that their families are being obstructed from visiting them and sending necessary medicines.
