Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday ordered the authorities concerned to release the general students, who were detained during the movement for quota reform in government jobs.
She made the announcement at a meeting held with the leaders of Peshajibi Samannay Parishad (Professional Coordination Council) at Ganabhaban on Saturday.
However, the quota reform protesters under the banner of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement are staging demonstrations across the country to press home their nine-point demand and protesting the attacks on their Friday’s mass procession.
They on Friday evening announced that they will go for a countrywide non-cooperation movement starting Sunday.
