Restaurant worker injured in Badda clash die at DMCH

A restaurant worker, who suffered bullet injuries during the clashes between quota reform protesters and police in the capital’s Badda on July 19, died in the early hours of Saturday.

Md Emon, 17, a native of Cumilla’s Muradnagar, died around 3am while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).  

His sister Tahmina and brother-in-law Shamim said Emon used to work at a restaurant. He suffered gunshot wounds on July 19 while he was going to his workplace. He was recovered and taken to the hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

Md Bachchu Miah, Inspector and In-charge of the hospital’s police camp, confirmed the death.

He said the body was kept at the morgue of the emergency department of the hospital.
