Former AL leader hacked dead at Mohammadpur

A former leader of Awami League was hacked to death at Mohammadpur in Dhaka on Monday night. 

The deceased was identified as Kamal Ahmed, 40. 

He was the Education and Human Resources Secretary of ward 33 unit of the ruling party. 

Deepak Chandra Saha, Officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur police station, confirmed the death to Jago News on Tuesday morning.  

He said the miscreants indiscriminately hacked Kamal at Katasur area around 9pm. He was injured and taken to the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) where a doctor on duty declared him dead. 

The OC also said they have already started a drive to arrest those who involved in the murder incident.
