Awami League General Secretary of Obaidul Quader on Tuesday told the law enforcement agencies that innocent people cannot be implicated to increase the number of arrests.
“I draw the attention of the Home Minister that no innocent person should be arrested by being overzealous,” he said at a press briefing arranged after the joint meeting of Awami League at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital.
Obaidul also called on everyone to remain cautious. “It’s order from our leader Awami League president, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Be wary of rumour-mongers. Their information should be reported to law enforcement agencies.”
