Though flood situation in several districts improved significantly but flood affected people are now living with the fear of snake bite and drowning.
The fear boost as four people drowned into the flood water which grew the death toll from the flood to 24 in last two weeks.
Dr. Ayesha Akter, in charge of National Health Crisis Management Center and Control Room said most of the deceased who drown in the flood water were minor and elder.
Several water related diseases like diarrhea, asthma, skin diseases and eye inflammation spread out across the flood affected districts. More than nine thousands people including women and children have been suffering from these diseases and at most 1000 medical teams are working to solve this problem.
Hundred thousand people from 59 upazilas of Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Rongpur, Gaibandha, Kurigram, Sirajganj, Jamalpur, Sunamganj, Faridpur, Rajbari, Manikganj, Kustia, Tangail, Dhaka, Shariatpur, Munshiganj, Madaripur and Chandpur districts have been suffering from flood, said a Health Department source.
