Dhaka Metropolitan Police has, so far, arrested 2,357 people, most of them are BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami activists, in 209 cases filed with different police stations in the capital over the vandalism of government establishments, violence, and acts of subversion in the name of the quota reform movement.
Biplob Kumar Sarker, joint commissioner (operations) of DMP, confirmed the matter on Friday.
He said police are tracing and arresting those involved in the acts of violence based on detective information and CCTV footage analysis.
In continuation of this, DMP showed 2,357 arrested in 209 cases as of this afternoon, he said.
