Startup Bangladesh Limited has canceled an investment proposal of Tk 5 crore for 10 Minute School, an online educational platform in Bangladesh.
State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications & Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak confirmed the matter at a programme titled ‘BSRF Sanglap’ organized by Bangladesh Secretariat Reporters Forum (BSRF) in the Secretariat on Tuesday.
It is alleged that the investment proposal was cancelled following a Facebook status of the educational platform’s founder Ayman Sadiq in favour of the anti-quota movement.
However, when asked why the investment proposal was canceled, the state minister said, the revelation of the reason for the cancellation of the investment proposal is a violation of the agreement.
The state minister also confirmed the matter in a status published on his verified Facebook page.
Earlier on Monday evening, Ayman Sadiq posted a status with a photo on his verified Facebook page protesting the attacks on the anti-quota protesters at Dhaka University.
On Saturday, he posted a status on Facebook saying “We want quota reform. Merit should be the biggest quota”.
