The leaders of the public university teachers, who are observing all-out work abstention programme demanding the cancellation of the Universal Pension Scheme ‘Prottoy’, are holding a meeting with Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League (AL) General Secretary Obaidul Quader.
The meeting began at 11am on Saturday at AL President’s political office in the capital’s Dhanmondi.
AL Joint General Secretaries Mahbubul Alam Hanif and AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Office Secretary Biplob Barua, Education and Human Resource Affairs Secretary and State Minister for Education Shamsunnahar Chapa, Prime Minister’s Education and Cultural Affairs Adviser Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury and President of the Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers Association Professor Md Akhtarul Islam are, among others, present.
Notably, the teachers, officials and employees of all public universities have been observing all-out work abstention programme since July 1 demanding three-point demand including the cancellation of the Universal Pension Scheme ‘Prottoy’.
The teachers earlier said they will continue their movement until their demands are met.
