Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman has said if the protesting students breach law and order, it won't be tolerated.
He said this in reply to a query from the journalists joining a program virtually at Segunbagicha in the capital Dhaka on Friday afternoon.
The DMP chief said the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court ordered status quo for a month on the High Court verdict that declared the scrapping of quotas in the government jobs as illegal.
"Now it's the matter of court. There is an obligation to comply with court orders and I think everyone should do it," he said.
Students have been protesting in the capital and different parts of the country for several days to demand reforming the quota system in government jobs.
