Who Doesn't Like Chocolates?

July 7 was World Chocolate Day. In celebration, communication expert Wasima Tanzim shares her passion and feelings about this beloved delicacy.

As a kid, few things brought me as much joy as the rich, creamy taste of chocolates melting in my mouth. Whether it is a simple chocolate bar, a gooey brownie, or a steaming cup of hot cocoa, chocolate was my ultimate comfort food. And I’m sure I’ll have plenty (already with a watery-mouth) agree with me because let's be honest – who doesn't like chocolates?

I remember the joy of receiving chocolates from relatives who just returned from abroad, and being bribed by older siblings to hide their mischievous acts. A steaming hot chocolate drink often was a part of our evening meal before sitting down for homework. Most of our childhood memories still remain fresh, as if they are also ever preserved inside shiny silver wrappers!

Although I now have to play adult for the sake of the years gone by, my fascination for chocolates hasn’t changed at all. For me, the rich-creamy-caramel-y-velvety bars are more than just foods, they capture a whole exotic emotion! And so, on the World Chocolate Day, I opt to share some delightful ideas to celebrate the passion for chocolates.

A charcuterie board of… chocolates! : Bring together a symphony of flavors and textures by creating a chocolate charcuterie board! Throw in your favorite chocolates, cookies, sweets and fondue-dips, and decorate a visually stunning as well as delicious treat for yourself and loved ones. With a little creativity and some quality ingredients—many of which can be conveniently found at your local stores or online platforms—you’ll have a masterpiece ready in no time!

Bake THAT cake: This can also be the occasion to unleash your inner baker, and bake that perfectly chocolatey cake you saved up the recipe for many months back. Whether it’s a classic chocolate cake, brownies, or cookies – baking brings its own kind of joy. As long as the friends and family are biting into melting goodness – your chocolate day game is right on point!

Gifts and more gifts: Gifts are awesome, chocolates as gifts are awesome-er. You can share your love and gratitude on this special day by gifting chocolates to friends, family, or even to yourself. After all, a day like this deserves an extra touch of sweetness. And here's a tip—online delivery apps like foodpanda’s pandamart and Shops offer a fantastic selection of chocolates. You can easily have these delivered right to your door, making gifting even simpler.

Embrace a cheat day! : What if this chocolaty day becomes your cheat day, too? Give that strict diet plan a rest, because you deserve it. Indulge yourself in a big, crunchy bar of dark chocolates or a mug of foamy, frothy chocolate shake. Out of supplies? Worry not, you can always order online!

Chocolates are like our bridges to beautiful memories, friendships and better times. This World Chocolate Day, why not take a moment to celebrate in this simple, yet profound pleasure? There is something immensely satisfying about unwrapping a shiny foil wrapper and taking the first bite. So, open a box of your favorite chocolates, share with those you love, and let the magic of chocolate do its work!
