Quazi Abu Mahmud Faisal, first secretary (Taxes) of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), has been transferred to Inspector Range-1, Tax Zone, Bogura.
Besides, Md Moniruzzaman, additional commissioner of Inspector Range-1, Tax Zone, Bogura, has been made the first secretary (taxes) of the NBR.
A notification, signed by Shahiduzzaman, the first secretary (Tax Administration Wing) of the NBR, said this on Sunday.
Earlier on Thursday, Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammad Ash-Shams Jaglul Hossain ordered the confiscation of all movable and immovable properties of Quazi Abu Mahmud Faisal following an appeal by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The court sources said the tax official, Faisal, amassed a huge amount of property through bribery and corruption and the ACC is investigating this.
An inquiry team of the anti-graft body primarily found Tk 16 crore moveable and immovable properties, including a flat, two plots, and savings certificates.
