BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said the government's silence on the Saint Martin Island issue is tantamount to a servile attitude.
He made the remark in a discussion at Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka on Saturday.
Mirza Fakhrul said gunshots are being fired on the way to Saint Martin Island from Myanmar and a food crisis prevails there but the government is silent.
The government made Bangladesh a dependent state and it doesn't talk even if people are killed on the border and the country doesn't get water from neighboring one, he said.
