Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Friday predicted light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers with temporary gusty wind and moderately heavy to heavy falls at different places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am today.
"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at many places over Chattogram division; at a few places over Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions and at one or two places over Khulna and Barisal divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions," said the weather bulletin issued this morning.
Also, the bulletin predicted that the ongoing mild heat wave which is sweeping over the districts of Khulna division and the districts of Rajshahi and Pabna may abate.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. Due to excessive moisture content the discomfort may persists, it added.
Country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 37.0 degrees Celsius jointly at Jashore and Chuadanga. While, today's minimum temperature 23.0 degrees Celsius was recorded at Kurigram (Rajarhat).
Rainfall for the last 24 hours commencing 6 am today was recorded 202 mm at Sylhet.
The sun sets at 6:47 pm today and rises at 5:11 am tomorrow in the capital.
