Seminar redirects career pathways for future leaders in textile industry

Textile Today Innovation Hub has successfully hosted a seminal titled "Integrating Innovation with Career" on Friday (May 31) at RH Corporation, an Aziz Group company.

The seminar, designed to bridge the gap between innovative practices and career development in the textile industry, attracted a distinguished lineup of speakers and a robust audience of future industry leaders.

The event commenced with a welcoming speech by Engr ASM Hafizur Rahman Nixon, Executive Director of RH Corporation, a luminary in the industry. His address underscored the importance of nurturing future leaders through institutional and factory engagement activities, setting the tone for an inspiring day.

Biplob Ahmed, Executive Director of Square Textile Division, delivered an insightful keynote address.

Drawing from his 20-year industrial journey, Ahmed captivated the audience with his discussion on seamlessly integrating innovation into career trajectories. He emphasized staying updated with the latest industry practices and explored the symbiotic relationship between motivation and innovation in the workplace.

Ahmed also highlighted the importance of students establishing strong industry connections early in their academic careers, advocating for practical exposure and hands-on experience to foster growth in the competitive textile field.

Guest speaker Engr Tarun Kumar Mistry, General Manager (Operations) of Alim Knit BD, Cotton Field (BD) Ltd, and Mondol Knitwears Ltd, focused on "Transforming Human Capital for Best Practices."

Mistry's talk emphasized the crucial role of human resources in driving innovation and excellence within the textile industry. He shared strategies for empowering employees, ultimately leading to the implementation of best practices across the sector.

Tareq Amin, Founder and CEO of Textile Today Innovation Hub, illuminated the concept of innovation as a tangible process with structured approaches.

He outlined the importance of setting clear, achievable goals and breaking them down into actionable steps, providing attendees with a systematic roadmap for embedding innovation into their careers.

The seminar featured a dynamic panel discussion with industry leaders, including: Md Zakaria Alam Jiku, Lecturer (Technical), Textile Engineering College, Noakhali; Md Morshed Ali, COO, Textile Engineers Society; Merchandiser, Apex Holdings Limited; Muhammad Wahidul Islam, GM, Business Development & Technical, RNT(BD) Ltd; Shakil Ahmed Sagar, Junior Executive, Marketing & Merchandising, Aman Knittings Ltd-Unifill Group; Motakabbir Rahman Mine, Production Merchandiser (License), Next Sourcing Limited BD MD Abul Kalam Azad, Lecturer, Department of Dyes and Chemical Engineering, BUTEX.

The seminar drew around 125 participants from leading textile universities such as BUTEX, NITER, and BUFT, alongside industry leaders.

Attendees engaged in interactive sessions and round-table discussions addressing current issues in the textile sector, with an integrated evaluation conducted by their mentors. The event was moderated by Asif Iqbal, President of BUTEX Business Club.

The seminar concluded with a resounding affirmation of the importance of integrating innovation into career development, equipping future leaders with the knowledge and skills to navigate and shape the ever-evolving textile industry.
