Govt doesn't feel embarrassed on Aziz-Benazir issues: Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said the government doesn't feel embarrassed over former Army chief General Aziz Ahmed and former Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed issues.

He said, "The government doesn't feel embarrassed over Aziz-Benazir issues because it did not give them a chance to be spared by refusing their crimes. The head of the government (Sheikh Hasina) is uncompromising about corruption."

Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said this in a press conference at Awami League President's Dhanmondi office in the capital Dhaka on Tuesday.

Mentioning no criminal will be spared in the tenure of Sheikh Hasina-led government, he said, "The Anti-Corruption Commission can investigate against former Army chief Aziz Ahmed if he is criminal. Any person, whoever he is, must face punishment if he commits any offense."
