Bangladesh Railway will start selling advance train tickets from June 2, ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, the second largest religious festival for Muslims.
Tickets of June 12 will be sold on June 2 and tickets of June 13, 14, 15 and 16 will be sold on June 3, 4, 5 and 6 respectively.
Besides, the selling of return tickets will begin from June 10. The return tickets for June 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24 will be available on June 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 and 26 respectively.
Railways Minister Md Zillul Hakim said this in a press conference held at Rail Bhaban in Dhaka at 12:30pm on Tuesday.
The minister said, the tickets will only be available online. The tickets for all intercity trains plying in the western regions will be sold from 8am. And the tickets for all intercity trains running in the eastern regions will be sold from 2pm.
The Eid-ul-Azha is likely to be celebrated across the country this year on June 17 subject to moon sighting.
