A three-member team of detective branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) led by its additional commissioner Harun-Or-Rashid reached India on Sunday to investigate the murder of Jhenaidah-4 constituency lawmaker Anwarul Azim Anar in Kolkata.

The two other members are Deputy Commissioner of Wari Division (detective) Abdul Ahad and its Additional Deputy Commissioner Shahidur Rahman.

They left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka in a flight at 10am and arrived in Kolkata at 11am (Bangladesh local time).

Earlier, a four-member team of West Bengal CID came to Dhaka to investigate the murder of the lawmaker.

India’s West Bengal police on May 22 said the Bangladeshi lawmaker Anar was killed in Kolkata, who went there on May 12 for medical treatment and went missing a day after arrival.
