US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu has reached Dhaka on a two-day visit.

He landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a flight of Sri Lankan Airlines around 11:30am on Tuesday.

During the visit, Lu will meet with Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud and Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen.

He will join a dinner to be hosted by Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman tonight. He will also exchange views with civil society leaders.

According to a statement from the US State Department, Lu will discuss US-Bangladesh cooperation, including addressing the climate crisis and deepening economic ties.
