The government has reappointed prominent journalist Zafar Wazed as the Director General of the Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB).
Zafar Wazed will hold the post for the next two years on the condition that he would sever professional affiliation with other institutions and organisations.
The Public Administration Ministry on Tuesday issued a gadget notification regarding his appointment, saying that the recruitment will come into effect from the day he will join.
He took the charge of the PIB on April 21, 2019. After that, his contractual appointment was extended several times.
In recognition of his contribution to journalism, he was awarded the country's second-highest civilian award Ekushey Padak in 2020.
