The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association has decided to raise the prices of gold after reducing it in eight phases.
The price of 22-carat gold was hiked by Tk 1,050 to Tk 1,10,213 per bhori (11.664 grams).
Besides, 21-carat was raised by Tk 1,003 to Tk 1,05,198, 18-carat by Tk 863 to Tk 90,174, and gold of traditional method by Tk 712 to Tk 74,988 respectively.
BAJUS's standing committee on pricing and price monitoring decided this in a meeting on Saturday following an increase in the price of pure gold in the local market, a press release said.
The new prices will come into effect from Sunday (May 5).
Earlier, prices of gold were decreased in eight phases on May 3, April 30, 29, 28, 27, 25, 24, and 23 respectively.
