Gold prices cut again, Tk 1.09 lakh per bhori

The Bangladesh Jeweler’s Association has decided to reduce the prices of gold again following a decrease in the price of pure gold in the local market.

The price of 22-carat gold was cut by Tk 1,878 to Tk 1,09,163 per bhori (11.664 grams), 21-carat by Tk 1,807 to Tk 1,04,195, 18-carat by Tk 1,552 to Tk 89,311, and gold of traditional method by Tk 1,283 to Tk 74,276 respectively.

BAJUS's standing committee on pricing and price monitoring decided this in a meeting on Thursday, a press release said.

The new prices will come into effect from Friday (May 3).

Earlier, prices of gold were decreased in seven phases on April 30, 29, 28, 27, 25, 24, and 23 respectively. With today's price reduction, Tk 10,262 was cut per bhori in total of eight phases.
