Chuadanga records season’s highest temperature at 43°C

Amid the scorching heat in different parts of the country, Chuadanga recorded the highest temperature of this season at 43 degrees Celsius on Monday afternoon.

Jaminur Rahman, in-charge of Chuadanga First Class Weather Observatory, said they recorded 43 degrees Celsius temperature in the district at 3pm.

The temperature may rise slightly or remain the same, he added.

Earlier on May 21, 2014, the maximum temperature in the country was recorded at 43.02 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga.

According to BMD's weather bulletin on Monday, a very severe heat wave is sweeping over Jashore and Rajshahi districts and severe heat wave is sweeping over the rest part of Khulna division and Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Naogaon, Pabna and Nilphamari districts. 

Besides, a mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Barishal division and the rest part of Dhaka, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and Mymensingh, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni and Bandarban districts and it may continue.
